EMDR therapy in Gilbert, Arizona
For the ones whoβve already tried βjust talking about itβ β and still feel stuck
Youβve done the work...
kind of.
Youβve journaled. Youβve therapized. You know your triggers, your childhood wounds, your attachment styleβand still, youβre spiraling at 2AM because someone didnβt text you back.
You can explain the why behind everything... but your body still acts like youβre in the middle of a fire drill.
Youβre tired of insight without relief.
You donβt want to keep rehashing the same pain.
You want to actually feel betterβnot just talk about feeling better.
Cue EMDRβbecause overthinking is not a healing strategy.
Youβve said it. Analyzed it. Cried about it.
Now letβs clear it.
EMDR FAQs
-
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, but letβs be realβitβs less about the fancy name and more about helping your nervous system stop freaking out over things that happened years ago.
EMDR helps your brain and body finally process the old stuff itβs been clutching for dear lifeβwithout having to retell your trauma in full detail.
You donβt have to cry on command. You donβt have to perfectly explain what happened.
You just have to show up, and weβll do the rest together. -
When something overwhelms youβlike trauma, emotional neglect, or that moment in 7th grade that still haunts youβyour brain sometimes files it away like itβs still happening.
Thatβs why your body goes into full fight-flight-freeze when someone uses that tone or you get a βcan we talk?β text.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or sounds) to help your brain:
Revisit the stuck memory
Reprocess it with support
Finally store it in the βno longer a threatβ folder
Itβs not woo. Itβs not hypnosis. Itβs legit brain scienceβand it works.

You donβt need a big T trauma to benefit from EMDR.
If you feel like your body is always bracing, or your brain wonβt shut up, this is for you.EMDR can help with:
Childhood trauma
Emotional neglect
People-pleasing and perfectionism
Anxious attachment and overthinking
Hyper-independence (ahem)
Guilt, shame, and that constant βIβm not doing enoughβ feeling
Panic, phobias, or being stuck in go-mode all the time
Religious or medical trauma
Basically, if youβve ever thought βwhy am I like this?ββEMDR is worth exploring.

EMDR sessions are private-pay only and not typically covered by insurance. However, I can provide a superbill if youβd like to submit for potential reimbursement.
-
Start with a free 15-minute consult to see if this is the right fit. From there, weβll talk goals, availability, and get your sessions scheduled.
Letβs keep it real: most people walk out of EMDR like,
βWaitβ¦ I donβt feel that tightness in my chest anymore.β βItβs like the memoryβs still there, but it doesnβt hurt the same way.β βI finally feel calm... like, for real calm.β
You donβt forget what happened. You just stop reliving it like itβs still happening.
You get to respond instead of react.
You get to feel safe in your body again.
What Clients Say After EMDR
If Talk Therapy Hasnβt Helped, Youβre Not the Problem
A lot of my clients have said things like:
βIβve been in therapy for years but still feel stuck.β
βI understand my trauma, I just canβt get past it.β
βI know it wasnβt my fault, but it still feels like it was.β
Thatβs because trauma lives in the body, not just the brain.
EMDR helps you stop intellectualizing your pain and start actually healing it. Less thinking. More feeling through.
