Does weekly therapy feel like it's helping... but not changing anything?

You’re not broken. You just need more time to go deeper.

  • You’ve been doing this therapy thing for a minute.. but somehow every session turns into a 50-minute life update just to catch your therapist up. And even after months of that? You're still stuck in the same cycles, feeling like nothing’s actually shifting.
  • Or maybe you’ve been meaning to start therapy forever,
but the idea of carving out weekly sessions between your overbooked calendar, burnout, and mental exhaustion?
Yeah.. it’s giving chore, not comfort.
  • Or maybe!! You’re just at that point where you need real help.. not in three months.. not “once we build rapport,”.. but like, yesterday.
  • Whether you’re a therapy newbie who wants to cut to the chase,
or a seasoned self-awareness queen who’s been stuck in the same healing loop and is ready to break the cycle.. an EMDR intensive might be exactly what your nervous system’s been waiting for.

Old-school therapy timelines?

Your healing deserves more flexibility - and so do you.

 EMDR Intensive FAQs

  • An EMDR intensive is a longer-format therapy session (typically 3-4 hours) designed to help you process trauma more efficiently than traditional weekly sessions. Instead of spending weeks building momentum, we dive deeper — faster — with more time and space for your nervous system to heal.

  • Think of weekly EMDR as slow and steady, and intensives as immersive and focused. Intensives allow us to stay with the work longer, reduce the stop-start of weekly therapy, and get to the root more quickly — especially if you're feeling stuck or emotionally exhausted.

  • EMDR intensives are ideal for:

    • Processing unresolved trauma

    • Emotional neglect and childhood wounds

    • High-functioning anxiety and burnout

    • Shifting negative core beliefs

    • Nervous system dysregulation

    • Getting unstuck in long-term therapy

  • This is perfect if you're:

    • Tired of circling the same patterns

    • Burned out by weekly therapy that never goes deep enough

    • New to therapy but want to make meaningful progress fast

    • A high-achiever or helper who needs efficient, powerful care

    • In between therapists but still want to do deep healing work

  • Most EMDR intensives are 3-4 hours long, with breaks and nervous system support woven throughout. We’ll work together to tailor the timing to your needs and capacity.

  • This depends on your goals. Some clients do a one-time intensive to jumpstart healing. Others book a few over time as “healing deep dives.” We’ll figure out what works best for you — no pressure, no one-size-fits-all.

  • Maybe, maybe not. Some clients use intensives instead of weekly therapy, some use them alongside their current therapist, and others use them in seasons. We’ll talk about what kind of support fits your life best.

  • EMDR intensives are private-pay only and not typically covered by insurance. However, I can provide a superbill if you’d like to submit for potential reimbursement.

Weekly Therapy vs. EMDR Intensives

Let’s Talk Real Life

Weekly therapy sounds great in theory — until you realize you’re spending half the session recapping what went down since last week, trying to remember what you were even working on, and tiptoeing into the deep stuff… only to get cut off by the clock.
The typical breakdown?
  • 10–15 mins catching up
  • 20–30 mins of actual processing
  • 10–15 mins grounding and wrapping up
Which means you might spend a whole month working through one stressor — if life doesn’t throw a wrench in your plans, or your nervous system isn’t like “no thanks, not today.”
And let’s be real…
Between scheduling conflicts, emotional whiplash, and the million things pulling at your attention, therapy starts to feel more like another task than a healing space.
EMDR Intensives
Now imagine this instead:
- 10–15 mins to drop in and focus
- 3 to 4 hours of deep EMDR reprocessing
- Built-in regulation + integration

Zero rush.
No pressure to summarize your life in 5 bullet points.
Just you, the work, and actual time to move through it.

In one half-day session, you can move through what might take months in traditional therapy — without the constant stop-and-start.
You can actually stay in the flow, access what needs to come up, and process it all the way through.

Results?
- Faster relief
- Less time off work
- No scrambling for childcare
- Less money spent managing symptoms that don’t go away

You get your life back — faster.
No more dragging it out for months hoping this is the session where things finally shift.
